Trust Company of the South’s 2023 Investor Symposium, hosted in partnership with Dimensional Fund Advisors, a distinguished asset management firm with a rich history of applying empirical evidence to shape investment strategies, was a momentous gathering that showcased the intersection of academic research and practical investing expertise.
Throughout the Symposium, wealth managers and other prominent leaders in the investment space came together, fostering an environment conducive to meaningful dialogue and relationship-building. By uniting these experts, the event empowered attendees with cutting-edge knowledge and explored innovative strategies that have the potential to shape the future of investment practices.
The collaboration with Dimensional Fund Advisors further solidified the firm’s dedication to continuously improving its clients’ financial well-being. The comprehensive exploration of investment themes in the public markets provided Trust Company with a deeper understanding, allowing them to brainstorm better and strategize ways to tailor their services, offer personalized financial solutions and support their clients in achieving their unique life goals.
Fortunately, for those who were unable to attend this year’s symposium in person, we have replay videos available below from each of the three sessions.
For the first session, Bill Noble, AIF, director of client relations and development at Trust Company of the South, kicks off the Symposium by providing an insight look at Trust Company’s investment process and how they strive to serve as expert stewards and fiduciaries for client families.
For the second portion of the program, Bill is joined by a panel of industry experts, Marlena Lee, the global head of investment solutions at Dimensional Fund Advisors, Burke Koonce, investment strategist at Trust Company of the South, and Bill Smith, CFP, president and CEO of Trust Company of the South.
During this session, the panelists engaged in conversation about how Trust Company implements investment strategies for client families to explain better what Trust Company does, how they do it and why.
To bring the Symposium to a close, Bill returns to the stage with Weston Wellington, vice president at Dimensional Fund Advisors, to take a deep dive into investor behavior and the role it can play in an investor’s success, or lack thereof, with their portfolios over time.
